The world Peace Mission has international encounters and interaction among members of different religions to breakdown the walls of division that stand at the centre of most of the conflicts as a threat to peace. This organisation aims to promote respect and collaboration between different faith and religions.

Medical Mission

The goal of WPM is to improve the overall community health status in each location in which we work around the globe. The vision of the Medical Mission is to offer all people, through Christ, spiritual, physical, and emotional wellness. The Medical Mission’s work is a commitment to Christ where we can truly help the world through kindness and compassion to all people who suffer from illness and health related issues. Our mission is to seek fundamental knowledge on the basic components needed to maintain health and application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, reduce illness, disability and reduce mortality and morbidity. Medical Mission offers all people, through Christ, spiritual, physical, and emotional wellness. The Mission extends a compassionate touch to demonstrate God’s healing love.

  “Health is wealth”

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social  well-being, not merely an absence of disease or infirmity.

Despite incredible improvements in health services since 1950, still global issues on health care havemany challenges. One billion people lack access to health care systems. 36 million deaths each year are caused by non-communicable diseases.

Cardiovascular diseases are the number one group of conditions causing death globally. Over 7.5 million children under the age of 5 dies from malnutrition. HIV & Aids spread rapidly. Many deaths occur due to communicable diseases, malaria, tuberculosis and measles. (Ref: Updated September 27-2004-Global health issues) Most of the deaths are preventable, the cause of this is mainly the global aspect of health issues such as poverty and inequality, lack of health awareness, financial deficit and failure to treat health conditions, physical & emotional abuse causingpsychological physical and emotional trauma leading to health issues, alcohol abuse and smoking lead to serious health conditions, lack of support for aged and disabled resulting in failure to meet their immediate and regular health needs and lack of global health initiatives and the nature of global health problems being addressed.

Pro-Life ministry

Unwanted and illegal pregnancy lead to abortion. In this situation, the mother will be in great mental and psychological trauma. The decision on abortion is often made due to lack of support from partner, family and community and unawareness of the cruelty being done by killing a human being and her own baby and risking the mother with infections and many other health problems. She may carry a guilty conscience for being responsible for her own child’s death which often leads to regret for the rest of her life. Our approach towards this should never be judgmental but to make the mother and partner and family to understand the serious impact of abortion to the mother and baby and help her to continue the pregnancy. The pregnancy counselling and support of the Mission follows a woman’s pregnancy from conception through delivery of the child. Ongoing counselling and family support will be needed, and most of the time they may need shelter. An informed decision on adoption should be made in partnership with mother and father and the counsellor if that is the only possible choice. Adoption service is to be contacted and necessary arrangements to be made. Medical Mission brings compassion, forgiveness, and healing to those who are hurt in the aftermath of abortion and enable them to lead more productive and peaceful lives. Through counselling and retreats, they offer a healing opportunity for any woman, man, couple, and family who have been affected by the emotional loss, guilt, or shame of an abortion.

Adolescent pregnancy

Approach towards adolescent pregnancy differs from countries to countries. Most of these pregnancies are unexpected and many of them are unwanted. Mothers approach towards adolescent pregnancy depends upon their socio economic status, cultural and religious background and governmental support. Young mothers always need ongoing support from elders. In situation where family support is not available or in illegal pregnancy, this will be traumatic for the young mother. Most of the time they will be hesitant to disclose the actual situation. Our approach should be gentle and friendly and provide emotional support and resource information for educational, medical, legal, financial, and social assistance. Counselling support should be offered regularly as needed and help with adoption if that is the choice. Services may also include help with maternity clothes, baby clothes, furniture, parenting classes, and much more.

HIV/AIDS Awareness Program

The World Health Organisation estimates that around 35 million people in the world are living with HIV. HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system, and weakens your ability to fight infections and diseases. It is most commonly caught, by having unprotected sex. There is no cure for HIV, but there are antiretroviral treatments to enable most people with the virus to live a long and healthy life. Unavailability of this medicine and the expense of this medication leads to millions and millions of painful deaths each year and families leading to severe poverty and agony.

Sex education: Educating the community regarding the measures to prevent the dreadful disease. Eliminate new HIV infections in children and keep their mothers alive.

• To increase access to antiretroviral medications. • Promote public understanding and the need of being kind to affected people and not to be judgmental, but being human. • Enable provision of flu vaccine and first aid kits to HIV patients as they are highly susceptible to infection.

Study the community, identify medical needs, prioritise for the establishment of Medical Mission in the community. Each peace community has to do an assessment by taking detailed data on the following issues: overall health status of the people in the community, epidemiology of current regional health issues, quarantine diseases, emerging infectious diseases summary, communicable diseases summary, recent outbreaks and epidemics, community approaches to diagnosing, occupational health methods, lab capabilities, physical infrastructure, clinical and personnel capabilities, resource availability, health system, nutrition, environmental health including sanitation, water supply and pollution, preventive measures, training potential, emergency service and triage capabilities.

Healing Ministry

“O Lord, my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me (Psalms 30:2).  Along with medical support we provide healing ministry. We do this by visiting the sick,  staying with them, acknowledging their pain and suffering, joining them in prayer, encouraging  their family support, and providing social services support such as meals, child care, and  transportation; prayer requests via international prayer line can be used as needed.

Empowering communities

To take health and wellness issues into their own hands they become self-sufficient

through classes and hands on learning. Provide learning opportunities for the local

communities to sustain their well-being.

Medical Desk

The Mission provides our volunteer physicians, nurses, and students wonderful opportunities

to donate their time and their professional skills.  All of this is to help those in need and, at the

same time, these professional volunteers are gaining hands on healthcare experience. All over

the world they are sharing God’s love by their healing touch.

Doctors will see patients for free, provide technical expertise

to local medical professionals through  partnership with them in diagnosis assistance and

mutual exchange of ideas. Clean water, basic hygiene and nutritional tips can go a long way to

saving lives and stopping the spread of disease, encouraging people to be active, quitting

smoking, safety awareness, sex education, stress management, diabetes care, heart health,

disability support are the main focus of improvement.

We are

Let us join hands and forge ahead with our programmes for World Peace Mission. The ideal is to work for projects ‘on earth as it is in heaven’. We should notice the spark of divinity in everything and everyone and treat it with due respect and reverence. Feed the hungry, provide drink for the thirsty,  welcome the outsider, protect the privacy of the naked, provide nursing care for the sick and the dying, mark each life on earth and work sincerely for this aim, and to teach it and to inspire others to do the same. World Peace Mission is the stage for this enterprise.
