The Peace Garden is designed for the aged population who are poor and homeless; the aim is to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of the ageing population to live happily for the precious time they have left. A dedicated team of volunteers including doctors, nurses and support workers who are willing to contribute are involved.
The main focus of care are :-
• Prevention of age- related health problems such as obesity, heart disease, diabetes and blood pressure by improving lifestyle which includes regular exercises and activities, adapting healthy food habits and by leading a stress- free life.
•Early detection and management of illness.
•Smoking and drinking cessation programmes.
•Support and rehabilitation to disabled.
•Spiritual enrichment-according to individual belief.
•Counselling/family support/healing prayer service.
Getting involved in activities in the Peace Garden according to the talents, capability and interest of the inmates and will be motivated in order to keep everybody active, this will enable to interact and enjoy working in a team. The activities are such as gardening, painting, cleaning, cooking, serving etc.
